Hi

Firstly, thanks for keeping the project going. Long looked at this, but first time installer....

Trying to do a fresh install of 5.0.2 on an ubuntu server, and am hitting a 500 error message, when trying to access the install.php installer via internet explorer 8, while in firefox I just get a blank screen returned.

I tried connecting instead to just the standard index file, and and getting a "database initialisation" message, so it does seem the folders are in the correct location?

Should I be manually updating the dbconfig for the database details prior to running install.php?

Any other troubleshooting advice would be appreciated.

your server has something configured wrong. Are other php pages working fine? What php version do you have? Also, check your apache and other error log files.

Looks like a permissions issue.
PHP Fatal error: Smarty error: unable to write to $compile_dir '/var/www/pos/cache/templates_c'. Be sure $compile_dir is writable by the web server user. in /var/www/pos/includes/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1088

Not sure why, I had set chmod to allow writable access as per FGV's instructions...

Retried setting the permissions, for both cache and eveconfig, and still not working.

CCP currently does not provide any API data for silos/reactions/what's in and out at towers. It's all manual.

In fact you can get information about silos and what's in it via the api - by fetching the corporation's asset list. What you cannot do is assigning the silos to the reactions. That would be up to the user, but once that is done you can could update the contents of the silo via the API.
And THAT would be real cool!

Well they are not, it is only 1 cronjob = poscron.sh

that is not working. So there must either a) be something wrong with poscron.sh or b) be something wrong with cron_updatepos.php

I have PHP 5 as detailed: PHP Info

So to re-iterate: All POS Tracker cron jobs (except poscron.sh / cron_updatepos.php) work

The problem I am having is when I navigate to the installation directory it says there is no index.html file. Upon further investigation, the file does exist but it is a 0KB file, which also shows as zero KB in the zip file I downloaded.

Ok, re-inspired to make this work. When I attempt to use the POS tracker (installed and everything) I get this error

Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "login.tpl" in .../pos/includes/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1088

I believe this is a problem with the template_dir variable in Smarty.class.php, but I couldnt figure out how to fix it. I did track down the .tpl files to .../pos/themes/posmanager and fiddled with that. No luck. Hopefully you know whats broken, somewhere. And yeah, I do realize this isnt a POS tracker bug or anything like that.

So far I've tried fiddling with file rights and fiddling with the template_dir variable. No luck.

Thanks for taking so much time to figure this out.

As far as my webhost goes, when they said they were escalating it they really meant "We're done talking to you now." They sent me an email saying my ticket was closed as soon I left chat saying it was the php scripts fault. I love how useful IT staff are.

When I have time I might look at register.php again and see if I cant hack together a fix for that, but I really have no clue on the not staying logged in issue with the phpsession being created and maintained.

Hi, love the script/system


I have a few problems.

mail cron is spitting errors
I also cant get it to pull location information since all my towers are in a wormhole. (i can see pos location information from EVEHQ and copy over to Pos Tracker but dam i love that location tab

When i test the mailcron i get the following error. "Parse Error syntax error, unexpected T_STATIC, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' om /home/sites/corpsite/blah/blah/includes/adodb.inc.php on line 430

I have made a few SQL queries to fix Pos Tracker for Wormhole folk. You may need to modify them to your own database if you changed the table prefix.

Wait a second I just remembered something. You seem familiar. You asked this question on 6/7/11 and stated you couldn't touch your php.ini. Ummm well with no access to that it makes it a lot tougher to troubleshoot. In most cases you can override your php.ini you just don't know it. I can help troubleshoot this if you give me access to your webhost otherwise I would try and get another web host. If you want also I can also talk to your webhost(as I have done so in the past for others) about the issue but I'm going to need details about who you host with and where your installed files are actually located. Let me know via EVEMail if you don't want others to see.

A more typical use case for the feature request is this:

1) I use POS Tracker to figure out how much total fuel I need to buy
2) I transport the fuel to my target system
3) I have to go away / get DC'd / have some other reason I can't fuel right then
4) I come back the next day, and then I don't know how much fuel to put in each tower. If I use the 'optimal' value with today's data, I'll short one tower by a whole bunch.
